Article 3. Statement of Faith

3.1. The church holds firmly to the following basic doctrines:

3.1.1. The Bible which includes both the Old and the New Testaments, is inspired by God, inerrant and unchanging, the complete revelation of His will in regards to His salvation of mankind and the ultimate standard for believers’ faith and living.

3.1.2. There is one God who is the creator of all things, infinitely perfect, eternally existing in three persons of one substance: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

3.1.3. God the Son Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Trinity, is true God and true man. He is God incarnate, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross for the sins of mankind, the just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice. He was buried and resurrected on the third day according to the Scripture, and ascended into heaven and now seats at the right hand of God the Father as our great High Priest. He is the only mediator between God and mankind and will come again to establish His kingdom on earth.

3.1.4. God the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Trinity, is the advocate for believers. His ministry is to convict the world of sin, regenerate the believing sinners, indwell, guide, instruct, sanctify and empower the believers according to the Scripture for Christ like living.

3.1.5. Mankind was originally created in the image and likeness of God but fallen through disobedience because of sin, incurring both physical and spiritual death. Man is born with a sinful nature, separated from God, and in need of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone and not by work. Those who believe in Christ are justified and regenerated through the Holy Spirit and become children of God.

3.1.6. The Church is the body of Christ consists of all born again believers who trust Jesus Christ as Savior through faith alone. Christ is the Head of the church which has been commissioned by Him to make disciples of all nations. All believers should belong to a local church. The local church is a body of believers in Christ who gather together for the worship of God, prayer, fellowship, evangelism with the Gospel, discipleship through the Word of God, and observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

3.1.7. Jesus Christ will certainly return to establish His eternal kingdom. His Second Coming is believer’s blessed hope and incentive to holy living and faithful service.

3.1.8. There shall be a bodily resurrection of the dead; a resurrection unto life for believers and a resurrection unto judgment for non-believers.
